The Baroque appearance of České Budějovice’s historic town hall dates back to 1727-1730 and Schwarzenberg’s builder A. Martinelli. Inside the town hall, in the wedding hall, you will find a large 148 m2 ceiling fresco depicting the Judgment of Solomon, in which the child’s hand appears as was usual in Baroque times. Since 1727, the town square has been enriched with the Samson Fountain, which is a monumental sculptural work of art and one of the largest works of this type in the country. Justifiably, it is one of the town’s symbols.
