Pilgrimage Church Klokoty and Chapel near Dobrá Voda

The Pilgrimage Church Klokoty and Chapel attained its current Baroque appearance at the beginning of the 18th century after it was sold by Tábor municipality to the Benedictine Order of Montserrat. The church was probably inspired by the work of architect Jan Santini and it was gradually completed with cloisters and chapels that created an exceptionally impressive complex in the shape of a double cross. It can be compared to the most famous architectural treasures of European Baroque. A very old alley of linden trees leads to the church and it is not far to the chapel near Dobrá Voda where, according to legend, the Virgin Mary appeared.
