Stráž nad Nežárkou Castle is a feudal residence which achieved its Baroque appearance primarily through the reconstruction of the original Gothic castle after 1715. The castle is known especially in relation to the famous opera singer Ema Destinnová, who lived at the castle between 1914 and 1930 and used its position on the Nežárka River and the proximity of the Nová River to satisfy her great hobby—fishing. The castle offers tours for visitors, including the Ema Destinnová exhibition which will lead you through her entire life and work.
